Letter to a Father

I Have to say “yes it was 80’s in India and you were parent of 50’s”

My birth and you stood perplexed, chap-fallen, that I had to be daughter!
No less you loved me, No less pampered, I started growing with reasons for you to flatter.
Took you time to apprehend I am at par, and you, embellished my heart and soul as a son.
My height and age accelerated and the father in you stood as the spine for me, and that time - "I won!"

Desired me to lead, to stand ahead, to fight back.
I tried, ameliorated, accomplished, few failed though I started proving your decision - no off-track.
Wanted to see me with flying colors, nourish your dreams.
Conquered many, with your support for me, your strength for me, and your schemes.

Idealized you as knowledge reservoir and your talks of striving for success,
All in all world of knowledge coalesce.
The geologist, The picasso, The Shakespeare, The Aryabhatt and what not!!
Well channeled, funneled, piped to me by all possible means with a must.

Not always you were in situation to answer all my doubts,
Time with the turmoil put you in hardship, but, you gave a tough call of not losing being stout.
Yet you stood focused for letting me enrich with skills, with lessons,
With the prick on you I was safe as always and ever on cushions.

As it had to be “You are” and always “will be” my hero in life,
Not in words can it be summarized being so rife,
Your paternity is my prized possession, a gift by Almighty.
I owe my achievements and life to you Daddy.
